Just a Quick Note...

Hi all, please note that I have gone through and fixed my blog - I know that those of you who use PC instead of the (superior, ahem) Mac platform, you were having problems seeing my New Zealand entries. So I have gone through and fixed it so that the type doesn't get so small that it can't be read. I have also gone through and added some pictures - some in the NZ entries, and a lot on the "A Family Affair" page, which has pictures of my sister's wedding.

Hope you enjoy looking at the pictures!

:-)

Moving On...

Wow, from the last time that I made an entry in my blog, my whole life has essentially been flipped, turned, bent, catapulted, and turned inside out. So I guess the big news (although it’s probably not big news to anybody reading this as I have already sent out an e-mail to everyone announcing the big news, alas…) is that we are moving to Arizona next Wednesday. That was actually the purpose of our trip to Arizona over the 4th of July weekend that I wrote about in my last blog entry. Speaking of which, Winston did WONDERFULLY on the trip, no problem. I have to say he really is a dream dog, just very good overall. So anyway back to the move…It’s pretty nutso actually, and very sudden, as we didn’t start considering moving until a couple months ago. Jamie got a job in the Phoenix area working for Pella windows, which really is an amazing opportunity for him, a dream job really, thus the move. It will be nice because we will be close to family and old friends, and we will be able to buy a house, which will be REALLY nice. It’s strange to think that at this time next week I will be driving to Arizona, my new (old) home. We are actually stopping halfway in Palm Springs and staying at a spa resort for the night. It should be nice, although I’m a bit concerned about driving up to the resort in a moving truck, and two dogs in tow. We’ll see how that goes, but the mental image is not pretty.

So another bit of big news is that we bought ANOTHER puppy. Yes, I know, we only bought Winston two months ago, but we wanted him to have a playmate, and we wanted to get another Bichon-poo, which are hard to find, and the pet store happened to have a little girl at the age I wanted (two months) and she is actually from the same breeder, so she likely has the same parents (at least dad) as Winston, so they really are brother and sister. Her name is Chloe and she weighs a whopping 3.5 pounds. She is SOOO cute, which makes up for all her crying and “accidents”. She is definitely MUCH more vocal than Winston. Winston just doesn’t make noise, he doesn’t bark, growl, etc, and Chloe is just making up for this area in which he lacks (to our dismay). She cries ALL night (thank GOODNESS for ear plugs), and every time that we put her into her crate she acts like she is just being tortured, and paws at the gate, cries, screams, bites at the gate, the whole nine yards. Drives me insane. But the instant you pick her up you just melt because she is so little that I can carry her in my hand, and she instantly shuts up and is just the sweetest little thing…*sigh*. Hopefully the next time I write in the blog I will say that she is crate trained, not whining and crying, and is as well behaved as Winston – I hope hope hope hope hope HOPE!

My boss, who is also a JW and a friend, gave us a nice little going away party at his beautiful house in the Country Club, and he had everyone bring us a locally made gift (i.e. wine, chocolates, etc). It was exactly what we wanted, small and just those we are close to. My friend Angela is having a girls’ night out for me this Friday, which should be really fun, as we always have a good time when all of us chicks get together. Our friend Mark was dismayed that we were only doing a girls night (no boys allowed) and is possibly going to have a night out for all of us on Saturday night, boys and girls…but I don’t know if he can pull it off in the next few days…we’ll see. There is a group of us that all try to get together and go out to dinner every month, so he is going to try to get our group together. So it seems that when it’s all said and done there will have been three small going away “parties”. Ironic that I hate goodbyes and I have three going away parties…but I really do appreciate it, and it's good because they've all been small. It’s better than one big impersonal party where I don’t know most of the people further than the occasional hello.

Well I guess that’s about all for now. I guess the next time I write I will be in Arizona. Possibly freaking out since it hasn’t hit me that I am moving yet and it’s only a week away.

Here's to sanity!!
